Birds
In the Creation story, we see that birds have a very significant role to play. They are the symbol of spiritual and physical power. When Sky Woman fell through the hole created by the Tree of Peace, she was rescued by birds and the bluebird was the first living creature to exist on earth. The birds in Iroquois beadwork have berries hanging from their beaks, a symbol of gratitude for all the abundance and well being in the world.
